Area info and helpful links
The Anasazi Indians knew a good thing when they saw it, and the area we now call home was where
they would spend the winter.  Spaniards traveling along the Spanish Trail in the 1800’s noticed the
green meadows, (vega in Spanish) created by artesian wells and dubbed the area Las Vegas, then in
1905 with the auction of lots from the old Stewart ranch for an average cost of $452 the Las Vegas we
know today was born.
